Common questions

Does WindDown block apps during the day?

No, and it never will. WindDown only runs between your wind-down time and your wake time. Outside that window it does nothing at all. It also never reads what you use your phone for, at any hour, so it has no idea how your day went and no way to have an opinion about it.

Shields are not turning on at wind-down time

• Open iOS Settings, then Screen Time, and confirm WindDown still has permission. If you recently revoked it, the app will ask you to re-enable it when you open it.
• Open WindDown and check that tonight's schedule is enabled on the Home screen.
• Restart your iPhone. The Screen Time system occasionally needs it after an iOS update.

An app I need every night keeps getting shielded

Open WindDown, go to Allowed Apps, and add it to your allowlist. Changes apply from the next wind-down window.

I traveled and my schedule fired at the wrong time

Schedules follow your device's local time. After a time zone change, open the app once so it can refresh tonight's window. If it still looks wrong, email us with your route and we will investigate.

I want my data removed

WindDown stores your data only on your iPhone. Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Reset all data, or delete the app. Full details on the Delete Account page.
